Flanges & Fittings
Rigid and flexible pipe couplings that join two pipe ends securely in fire-fighting, plumbing and industrial piping.
Grade, size, pressure class and certification requirements are confirmed at enquiry. Mill test certificates are supplied with the material where applicable.
A coupling joins two pipe ends in line. Threaded full couplings are the simplest form for small-bore plumbing and utility work. Rigid and flexible couplings, used with grooved pipe, clamp around the pipe ends over a gasket; rigid couplings lock the joint, flexible couplings allow a small degree of movement and deflection, which is useful for vibration isolation and thermal movement in fire-fighting and HVAC mains.
Al Safsaaf supplies pipe couplings in rigid and flexible types, sourced from Hilti and Crane, for fire-fighting systems, plumbing and industrial piping.
Specify coupling type (threaded, rigid grooved or flexible grooved), nominal size, material and grade, pressure rating, gasket material and the end preparation of the pipe it will join. For grooved systems the groove profile and pipe wall thickness must be compatible with the coupling, so state the pipe standard and schedule. Half couplings and reducing couplings should be identified separately.
